The Challenge we Faced

Despite a myriad of initiatives – such as contact points, information newsletters, profile databases, matchmaking events and proposal training – bridging the gap between the European Framework Programmes on the one hand, and small and medium sized enterprises on the other, remains challenging.
                                       
smE-MPOWER set out to pilot a new approach to empower SME to initiate self-defined, longterm international RTD activities over which they have ownership. smE-MPOWER aimed to demonstrate how high-tech small and medium sized enterprises can be empowered, in the long-term, to engage in international RTD activities and thus to increase and sustain the number of SME driven innovation projects across Europe.
